Got Fur? Get These. September 2, 2010

It is great to have both sizes (for both dog and cat). I have a dog and cat, lab/chow and Maine Coon mix. Furry folks, err uh, dogs...hmmm dog and cat, I mean. They were leaving fur everywhere in our new home on our new carpet. This product helps A LOT.
When I first saw it I thought it was electric. Its not. It is a very fancy comb, strong and heavy. Takes off AMAZING amounts of hair. You will be glad you purchased this. Be warned when you use the product, you will have fur everywhere.
You probably already have fur everywhere. That is why you are reading this...RIGHT?
Have a bag or bucket handy for all the extra fur and old clothes on. And a shop vac for when you are done. Use it outside or in the garage.
It is great having both sizes for use on both the dog and the cat. The both have broad sections across their bodies and legs with nooks and crannies.
Buy this product; you will love it. You will talk about how wonderful the product is. And your carpet will not be filthy after years of shedding, (shedding That not even an awesome vacuum cannot keep up with).
We have a Dyson for animal fur vacuum. (Love-it.) Still when we left our apartment; it was filthy. Animals shed a lot, especially, if you are partial to the fluffy kind, like me.
The DOG enjoyed the process. I had to let her skin rest in certain areas after lots of de-shedding and go back to it after 5 or 10 minutes. To let me know it was too much; she would just reposition herself. Hair just Poured Off of her with ease, even off her legs. I was amazed how much extra unnecessary fur she has.
The CAT is well just that, a cat (even though he acts like a dog, rough-housing and fetching and all). He got mad and hissed occasionally. I held him gently between my legs in all kind of various positions, the same way i do while cutting his nails. It took him a few days to be furminated (that is a verb at our house Now). He needed time to CHILL between each session. He did have a gigantic hairball from cleaning himself after being furminated, but he has those anyway.
He is happier and cooler now and so is the dog. Note, they are both slightly less soft and silky with less soft downy undercoat. But they live in a climate controlled environment and do not need any extra fur.
They are both just as beautiful and look slightly skinnier too.
One last note, the Furminator is somewhat heavy, be careful not to be too heavy-handed, if and when, your arm gets tired. You don't want to bonk them on the head or accidentally press down too hard. Let the comb do the work, not your arm. It could take a while to remove all that excess hair they have been carrying around. The first time it took me around an hour (maybe a little more) to de-shed both animals. Dog is medium, part Chow.... furry. Cat is extra large and very fluffy.
Furminator is Fun to Use.

This tool works wonders in getting the extra hair off during shedding season. I have tried the usual brushing and brushing with a regular brush and it takes forever. The furminator grabs a lot of hair quickly and effectively, cutting down the grooming time considerably. Do be careful though. This product has a blade and going over and over the same spot on your pet can cause irritation. So be mindful. Also, do not attempt to take out mats with this product. As that could be quite painful for your pet. All in all it is a tool I am glad I have at my disposal.
