Not Effective August 21, 2010 SK Our neighbors have Chihuahuas and they bark a lot ! We hoped Dazer 2 would work for us by making them not bark next to our garden but it not effective enough to deter those dogs. They don't care the least.
Sent it to S. America August 14, 2010 P. Webb My son is in Peru and we sent him one of these. He loves it! He said it's saved him lots of dog bites and he uses it to keep the stray dogs away. He said they either back away or just give him a funny look and stop their aggression.
Handy tool to have in dog territory! July 22, 2010 Paul T. Van Ryn This inexpensive tool has come in very handy in our neighborhood many times. Just a few quick zaps and many dogs will stop dead still, perk their ears, or even back away. I would have given 5 stars if it had worked on more dogs. It seems to work very well on large dogs. There are a couple of German Shepherds near us that only required a couple of zaps to quiet them (they were fenced, but barking). Now they never bother me or anyone I'm with! Smaller dogs don't seem to be fazed by it. They keep yapping endlessly. If such an apparatus would work on all dogs -- that would be wonderful! Well worth having if you have dogs in your area. Recommend.
no effect July 19, 2010 Michael Goulish (Ann Arbor) After owning this thing for a year, I finally got a chance to test it. I've been having some trouble with dogs lately, so I recently put a new battery in it and I have been keeping it handy. Finally I saw the little doggies in my front yard, and I thought "Here's my chance to try it!" So I ran outside and tried it.
No effect. The little red light went on, and the dogs -- all three of them -- just looked at me. They were interested because I appeared to be holding something out toward them in my hand. They were all only 12-15 feet away from me. I tried it five times. No effect at all.
Red light came on every time. The little silver disk in the front of the device is undamaged and still looks as new as the day I bought it. It just no workee.
I finally yelled at the dogs, and they went away.
Next time I am tempted to buy something like this, I will instead take a ten dollar bill, tear it in half, and throw it in the trash. Thus saving myself sixteen dollars.
doesn't work July 4, 2010 jollystolly This product doesn't work. I tried it on my own dog and the neighbours' dogs and there is no response. The little yappy dogs ignore it completely and my own spoodle just cocks his head when he hears the noise. I can recommend the vuvuzelas from South Africa; it shuts up every dog in a one kilometre radius.
