Instant walking transformation! September 3, 2010

With the StarMark collar our 8 year old dog, Sasha, has learned how to walk again without pulling! Every spring/summer we have to spend hours working with her and reteach her to not pull. My parents have a similar product and their Dog walks perfectly without a leash! We tried the collar on Sasha and instantly she was walking better! My neighbor often takes her for walks and has notice a difference, she even told us of one time when she put the leash on the wrong collar, realized it because of Sasha's pulling, switched collars and she immediately started walking like a good girl again!

This is the second StarMark training collar we used and it works great. Our dog is a runner and he spends most of his time off leash, so he was never trained real well to walk on a leash. We have tried the choker chains and they don't prevent him from pulling and only seem to hurt him when he tries to bolt. With this training collar he doesn't pull on the leash and if he does get tempted to run after a squirrel he is gently reminded it ain't going to happen! Easy to adjust and since it is just like wearing a collar our it doesn't bother our dog like those halti type of harnesses do.

I purchased this collar for a lab/ridgeback mix who constantly pulls on me whenever we take walks. Our children have literally been dragged by the dog. I wanted a humane way of training her not to pull, and this collar works. She instantly heels and stays by my side. I no longer get jerked or dragged and can enjoy family walks and hikes with her. I was leary of the plastic collar versus the metal ones, but it's just as effective and more humane. It might not work as well with longer haired breeds, though?

I have an active 9 month old border collie that can be difficult to control on walks. This collar seems to be made well but it is not effective unless it is placed in the right position around his neck. To be effective on my dog I must place the collar up high on his neck. That means I have to constantly adjust it since it keeps sliding down. When it is in the correct position it does help control my dog's pulling but with the constant adjusting it isn't worth it for me. Possibly this collar would work better on short hair dogs.

What an awesome Collar. I bought this one after watching the Don Sullivan training videos and wanting a less expensive item. This collar completely surprised me with how well it worked on keeping a 5 month old 50 pound American Bulldong/Boxer puppy to not pull on his walk. Only like two slight reminder tugs not to pull is all it took. i love to walk my dogs and this collar makes it that much more fun!
