compostable bags July 30, 2010 julias These bags are fantastic. I used them with the BioBag container for all refuse from the kitchen. No smell, no gnats, and best of all, simply take it out, tie it on top and throw on the compost pile. How simple is that?
Bio-bags July 28, 2010 Mary J. Qualls (Denver, CO USA) Bio-bags...the right thing to do! Excellent product. They also have bags for net waste...trash bags, etc.
Slow to biodegrade July 19, 2010 jaspersu I use these in a compost pail in my kitchen. They make it a little more convenient to empty the pail into the compost pile outside, but they are not leak proof so I am still faced with a messy pail nearly every time. The bags do break down in the outdoor pile, but not quickly. When I turn the pile, the kitchen scraps from the bags will have been broken down and converted into compost, but the ragged bags are still recognizable. I have been using them for a year, and will have to screen bag fragments out of finished compost.
Aweful July 11, 2010 CT Mommy I am very disappointed in this compostable bag. It tears and rips almost immediately. The first time I used one, I tossed a grapefruit skin into it and it tore right through! Since I bought the pack of four, I am now stuck with these things. "Luckily," I have to double bag them to get them to work (so wasteful), so perhaps I'll motor through them.
Leaks, but we must use these in San Francisco July 1, 2010 J. C. Feldman (San Francisco, CA) SF now has mandatory composting so we have to buy biodegradable bags. Geez, another expense. At least these are cheaper to buy on Amazon than at my local hardware store.
They do leak through so I put them in a big tupperware and keep in the fridge.
