The Drinkwell was easy to set up and it runs extremely quiet. I had read some reviews before I purchased it and I was concerned that it was too noisy and problematic. But, it is none of those things. I purchased the Drinkwell with the reservoir which helps to keep the water level up and allows me to add ice cubes to the reservoir for colder water, which the cats seem to enjoy. I rinse out the Drinkwell about once a week (it takes that long for the reservoir to need a refill). The once a week cleaning allows me to clean out the motor which will occasionally wrap itself around strands of cat fur.
The motor will start making noise if there is no water or a low water level in the dish. But, if you are careful to keep the water level up and the unit clean, you will have no problems. I have been extremely pleased with the unit and I've considered a second one for the basement. I have three cats. Two of them spend most of the day around the Drinkwell saving me the effort of turning on the kitchen faucet periodically during the day. The third cat prefers getting his water elsewhere for whatever reason. Bottom line...I love this product.

I've only had this product for a week but the cats seem to love it (I have 8) and it prevents me from having to clean and fill their water bowl on a daily basis. It's quiet and the 50oz reservoir seems to last about 3 days. Now if I could only find someone to scoop their litter box! I would recommend this product to anyone with indoor cats!

My pup loves this fountain. He is a 40 pound Field Spaniel. Only complaint I have is I have to fill it every day. It makes plenty of noise when it is getting low on water. This complaint is a blessing though. I am no longer concerned about him not drinking enough water. Slurp...

I am very happy with my "Drinkwell with 50 Oz Reservoir" for my 3 cats and 1 dog. The cats love to drink from the running water and I love the filter that is in this product.
Pros:
Filter for water
Ease of cleaning the reservoir
Ease of filling the reservoir
Adjustable water flow
Cons:
Wish the motor was quieter
The holder for the reservoir sometimes detaches from the base

This item will drive you nuts! It functions as in the picture but what they don't tell you is that it is very loud. I would never be able to have this in my house. Thank God I bought it for the office. Even there, with all the background noise of an office, it's TOOOOOOO LOUD! I do not recommend it.
