My two cats Harriet And Veronica like this pet mate water fountain. The reservoir is easy to fill and the unit is just fine. I clean my unit monthly. It can be time consuming but it's only twenty minutes of time. I do not get a large amount of cat hair in it. However, I do use regular clorox bleach not any scented types to clean it. I use one tablespoon per gallon of water in a water bucket. Let all the parts except the pump soak for two minutes. Rinse every thing really well and dry with paper towels. Plus use Q Tips to dry where paper towels cannot reach like where the side and bottom of the fountain meet you would not believe the crap you get on the Q tip. Use the Q Tip to clean the track where the filter slides in and any other hard to reach areas.

We purchased this fountain a couple years ago and the pump just died. Rather than buy a new pump for $20, we bought a new fountain for $30. The pump didn't come with one pieces we needed. I imagine we will have to replace this every few years. I am not happy about that, but there doesn't seem to be a better one out there. My cats love the ramp on this one and would not like the other brand that does not have it.
The fountain can be a pain to clean, but it doesn't have to be done everyday. I just use a bottle brush and cotton swabs for hard to reach places. We haven't found the fountain to be loud. The extra tank seems to hold about a days worth of water, someties 2 days.
We have 2 cats that love to drink out of it. It has really helped make them want to drink, which is very good for them. When it broke, the cats didn't want to drink. They love it.

Nice water dispenser. Keeps everything flowing. Very easy to set up. If you forget to refill it it can get pretty loud and even sound like a buzzer as the motor's fan is no longer submerged. This can be a good thing to let you know that you need to fill it up again. When you fill it to the top it is almost silent but as it get's lower the sound will increase. Just place it somewhere in the house where a little noise won't bother most people. My cat was afraid at first but eventually warmed up to it.

Daddy bought his baby Gigi this water fountain to use and he hopes that she is using it. She has gone over to look at it but Iam not sure if she has used it. I think she likes it as it runs very quitely and doesnt seem to scare her at all

My cats love this item! It's very quiet so you don't hear it running and not messy. The only down sides is you have to fill it up a lot! And if you don't clean it regularly then it plugs up and don't want to work. It comes with maintenance instructions so make sure you keep them because it tells you how to take the pump apart to clean it. Overall a good buy!
