Good item, but very phallic packaging. August 30, 2010 Aaron (Kansas, USA) All the other reviews will tell you how great the product is - read them, they're 100% correct.
Now, take a close look at the product and how it's packaged. Notice the general shape of the handle, and how the ribbed shaft transitions into twin bulbous protrusions.
My girlfriend blushed when she first saw it sitting on the table. I bought a two-pack, and when giving the extra to my next door neighbor, he asked his young niece to turn away!
I'm not sure if this says something about how my family and neighbors view me, or if this product is borderline obscene. I don't really care - it works wonders on my Husky!
2 pack Furminator August 26, 2010 Amazon Shopper Great deal! Two pack was less than a single one at the local pet store. I have two dogs and a cat and use it on all of them.
Damn...This is CHEAP on Amazon August 25, 2010 Austin Somlo (Vincentown, NJ) Trust me, if you got a dog that sheds a lot, you NEED this product. This is the best brushing tool there is. When I said, "Damn, this is CHEAP," it's because this is being sold for fifty to seventy bucks at Petsmart and other per stores. And the best part about this product on Amazon? It comes with two brushes instead of one! The furminator not only brushes the hair out, it actually brushes the undercoat out. The result is a huge bag of hair that can stuff a pillow. In addition to this product, I heavily recommend the FURminator deShedding Shampoo because that will reduce the shedding after brushing, thus allowing a longer space in period of time between brushing sessions.
A hairy solution August 23, 2010 carouzer (Westminster, MD) When I was growing up, my family always had German Shepherds and boy, can they shed--year 'round. My mother still has a shepherd, and I bought a furminator for her because her dog has come to resent being combed and brushed. This dog LOVES the furminator and will stand still for hours to be groomed with it...I think because unlike a conventional comb and brush, this instrument doesn't reach the skin and irritate it, it simply pulls away the loose hair.
Several years ago my old German Shepherd went on to her great reward and I, sick of wall to wall dog hair, decided to get a less furry canine. I adopted a retired racing greyhound who, for a hound, has a pretty full coat. Even though she is practically bald by GS standards, she doesn't mind the furminator at all. In fact, she seems to like it. The furminator is like a shedding blade used on horses, but smaller and geared to canine physique. Even my cats don't object to being groomed with it. Genius--pure genius!
It worked for our dog August 22, 2010 Don Boden (Longmont, CO USA) About a month ago we tried the Furminator on our dog. We were quit surprised how it removed the fine hair and leaving the outer coat untouched. Would recommend this product to anyone that owns a dog.
