5 out of 5 stars All four cats give thumbs-up   September 3, 2010

My four cats immediatley took to the SmartCat Ultimate Scratching Post. They even were testing it while they helped me put it together. I think they especially enjoy being able to stretch to full length while they scratch, which they can't do on their old posts or on the furniture. The SmartCat post is top quality, very sturdy, and really nice to look at.

I have had this post for about two months and am very pleased with it. we have an outdoor cat that we are transitioning to be an indoor/outdoor kitty. the post is very sturdy, easy to assemble, looks nice in any room of the home. I have not seen anything comparable in retail stores in my area. definitely worth the few extra dollars. I expect this product to last for a very long time. great value and I would definitely recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Best scratching post I've ever seen   August 22, 2010

Things that are great about this product:

-It's tall so the cats can get a full stretch when they scratch.
-It has a sturdy base, so when they climb on it to get to the top, it doesn't wobble or tip.
-It's made of woven sisal, which I've heard cats prefer over the rope sisal, but I don't know why.

I love it, my cats love it, and I would recommend it to anyone who has cats with their claws.

5 out of 5 stars The best Scratching Post   August 20, 2010

I have two Persian cats that love love love this scratching post. I have another one that is smaller from the Pet stores but they can't climb on it. This one has a top on it and I put mice and other toys on the top and they just climb right up it to get the mice. We make a game of it. I also hang toys from it too.
My cats are indoors so this gives them something to climb on instead of my furniture in the house. They also run and jump on it too and because of the size and weight they don't knock it over. It is by far the best scratch post out there. Another point is I have the ones you buy from the pet store with the sisal and ball attached and those wear out after a while. I have had this for a month and it still looks brand new. You won't be disappointed in this. My cats thanks SmartCat for making this one. It is truly the Ultimate Scratching Post.

5 out of 5 stars Finally a scratching post that Quincey will use!!!   August 18, 2010

We have 3 cats...they all grew up with scratching posts from the time they walked into our home. Quincey, although showing occasional interest, preferred our upholstery and has single pawed 2 sofas and 3 chairs to the point of no repair over the past 10 years. We are getting prepared for yet another sofa, when I started searches on how to save this sofa from the dreaded clawing that was the demise of the previous ones. Having come across this scratching post, what could I lose. It arrived yesterday. As I was putting it together (which was a a cinch) our youngest decided to give it a try...hugging the post and not wanting to let go. The big test was Quincey. I got the post put together and standing and then waited. Within an hour, Quincey walked by and the curiosity bug got him. He immediately was drawn to it, with full stretch started scratching away, then curled himself around the post and started going in circles around it...the post stood sturdy through all this abuse. Quincey has revisited the post several times now and has taken claim...that is a really good sign that our furniture will be safe! The height is perfect for him to stretch and scratch...and it is sturdy and didn't fall over. I have already recommended to a friend who has similar issues and am grateful to have found this post. Thank-you!
